For generations All Saints’ has been supporting people with the death of a loved one. We are aware of how difficult this time can be and our Vicar is available to listen and be with you if that’s helpful.
A funeral is an important way of marking the end of someone’s life on earth. A church service allows you to give thanks for the unique person you knew and loved, in a way that gives comfort and hope in God’s everlasting love. There is a clear structure of readings and prayers, but the service can also include unique details. These include what people wear, the music that is played, readings that are chosen or simply a photograph at the front. If the person who has died was a regular churchgoer, it is sometimes appropriate to celebrate a service of holy communion.
Anyone can have a Church of England funeral at All Saints’. It can be held in church, or at a crematorium or burial ground.
Although the churchyard is closed for burials, the Memorial Garden within the churchyard is available for the interment of ashes.
